Both. New surplus in original crates brings the strongest prices, but we also buy unused-but-aged inventory, used equipment in rebuildable condition, and decommissioned units. Condition affects price, not whether we will buy.
Scrap yards pay by the pound for metal content. We pay based on resale value in the secondary equipment market. A usable 12-inch 600# gate valve is worth far more as a valve than as 900 pounds of steel — often several times more.

No hard minimum. A single large valve or vessel can absolutely be worth a call. For smaller items like fittings or instrumentation valves, pallet quantities work best.

Equipment type, manufacturer if known, size and pressure class or rating, material, quantity, condition, and the city where it sits. Photos help a lot. MTRs, data books, or U-1 forms add value but are not required.
